Hobby Master 1/48 US German Staff Car Wehrmacht Heer Berlin 1945 HG1801

During WWII Germany developed and used numerous vehicles as staff cars. These
vehicles were assigned to every branch of the military and depending on the rank of the
user an appropriate size and degree of comfort and luxury was provided. Senior officers
and high ranking government officials used large smooth riding vehicles while the lower
ranks were given rides that went from small but enclosed and semi-comfortable to open-
topped vehicles designed for battlefield use.


One of the many roles the Type 82E was used in was a staff car. The Type 82E was a
simple, plain vehicle and lacked the glamorous finish and extras of the larger vehicles used
by senior officers. The Type 82E was usually provided to mid and junior officers as well as
low ranked government officials. Compared to some of the other vehicles that were
available to lower ranked personnel the Type 82E offered; a degree of comfort, an enclosed
cabin providing warmth and protection from the elements.
